Responsibilities

Core Plus Aerospace High School Manufacturing Student Development Program &  Alumni Assistants

For rising High School seniors and recent graduates with experience using
tools and an interest in manufacturing careers,  aged 16+  on June 25,  2025.
Students will learn mechanical assembly and electrical installation,  blueprint
reading,  precision measurement,  lean manufacturing and other critical
advanced manufacturing skills.  Activities will include hands-on projects,  job
site exposure,  tours and resume and interview workshops..  Participants must
have been part of a shop class style course or club where they were exposed
to tools and shop safety.

Alumni aged 18+  are invited to apply for either a Mechanical Skills Instructor
Assistant role or a Program Coordination Assistant role.

Functional Test/Aircraft Test Student Development Program

For students from advanced manufacturing and aircraft maintenance programs
aged 18+  on June 25,  2025.
Participants will build on the knowledge they have gained through their
Aviation Maintenance studies at Technical Colleges and AMT Schools,  through
training and job shadowing with Boeing professionals.  Students will complete
this program with skills and knowledge appropriate to apply for a Boeing
Functional Test /  Aircraft Test role,  which is a common stepping stone to roles
on the flightline or as AMTs.  Participants will be assigned to a Boeing facility in
either Renton or Everett.

Toolmaker Student Development Program

For students from high school or community and technical college precision
machining,  welding,  advanced manufacturing,  drafting or other related
programs aged 18+  on June 25,  2025.
Students will create a series of metal jigs and fixtures using precision band
saws,  drill motors,  precision measurement tools,  sanding die grinders,
fabrication hand tools and a range of machine tools.  This is a great program
and career pathway for someone interested in problem solving and who enjoys
working to a high level of detail.

Machine Operator Student Development Program

For current and recent CNC Machining students with experience using tools
and an interest in manufacturing careers,  aged 18+  on June 25,  2025.
Students will learn machine operators setup,  operate and adjust numerous
types of Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC)  single and multiple tool
machining centers,  for example,  lathes,  planers,  and milling machines.  During
this program,  you will build on the skills and knowledge from your classes in
blueprint reading,  CNC operation and setup,  and use of 3D models.  Some
experience with MasterCam or similar software is preferred.

Mechatronics Student Development Program

For students from mechatronics,  industrial maintenance or related community
and technical college programs aged 18+  on June 25,  2025.
Participants will build on the knowledge they have gained through their
community and technical college programs by job shadowing with Boeing
maintenance professionals,  and learning industrial maintenance systems,  tools
and processes.  Participants will be assigned to a Boeing Equipment Services
maintenance shops across the Puget Sound region.

Qualifications

Dates:  Wednesday June 25 to August 7

Selected participants must be in the Puget Sound to collect their badge during the week before -  no later than 5:30 a.m.  on June 24

Alumni Assistants will start on June 20

High School Core Plus Aerospace SDP students will work Monday through Thursday.  Students will not work on Fridays,  with the exception of Friday,  June 30,  which is during program orientation.

Shifts:  All students will work eight hour days.  Start times vary between 5 a.m.  and 6 a.m.  depending on program and site assignment.

Wages:  Core Plus Aerospace High School SDP students and Alumni Assistants will be paid minimum wage for the city of their assigned site.  Returning students will be paid an additional $1/hr.

Functional Test,  Toolmaker,  Machine Operator and Mechatronics students will be paid $2/hr above minimum wage for the city of their assigned site.  Returning students will be paid an additional $1/hr.

Students will be employed by a third-party staffing company and assigned as contractors to Boeing.

A distance bonus may be available to selected students from schools or colleges more than 65 miles from their assigned site.
