ANR Group Inc is recruiting students currently enrolled in Chemistry/Biology/Physics/Industrial Health/Public Health/Toxicology for a Fall internship opportunity with Hanford Laboratory Management and Integration on the Hanford site in Richland,  WA.

This internship is open to students with Junior or Senior class standing and can be available for a 12-to-14-week internship from August to December.  This position can be full time or part time depending on the student’s availability.  The schedule is Monday-  Thursday,  6 a.m.  to 4:30 p.m.  The hourly rate for this position is $24.15 per hour for Juniors and $26.46 per hour for Seniors.

Responsibilities

Duties:

The intern will develop Industrial Health exposure assessments and samples plans to relate to analytical processes and the chemical hygiene plan for laboratory areas.  This effort includes aspects that support obligations established by 10 CFR 851.21,  including developing and documenting hazard evaluations and recording observations,  testing and monitoring results.

The resulting products will support the improvement of hygiene exposure evaluation and monitoring efforts that evaluate the implementation of analytical process controls and set HLMI up for monitoring changing conditions (e.g.,  odor complaints)  and be able to clear rooms in a timelier manner.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the internship.
  • Junior or Senior class standing,  fulltime students (12+  credit hours)  during the two quarters/semesters immediately preceding the start of the internship or a recent college graduate.
  • Bachelor of Science in industrial hygiene or related science (e.g.,  biology,  chemistry,  physics)  that includes industrial hygiene or public health components
  • Experience in a laboratory setting or similar (e.g.,  pharmaceutical)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate work in industrial hygiene or public health
  • Academic or practical experience with exposure assessment processes to include field monitoring
