Responsibilities

*Must live within commuting distance of Liberty Lake,  Washington*

The IT Service Desk Intern will support day to day IT Operations within the Service Desk team at STCU.  This position presents a student with the opportunity to gain valuable real-world work experience in a large organization within a complex technology environment.  The intern will learn about the IT Service Management platform and the best practices for providing quality customer service to the end users.  The intern will also develop skills in troubleshooting,  problem-solving,  and communication.  The main responsibilities of this position would be to function primarily as a Tier 1 /  entry level Service Desk technician with an emphasis on handling routine service requests and tasks made by STCU employees.  These would include ticket review and routing /  triage,  password resets,  account unlocks,  and other IT tasks related to daily technology and user operations.  This position would be involved in the management of phone calls /  support inquiries from end users within a clearly defined scope of inquiries.  The intern will work under the guidance and supervision of the Service Desk Manager and the Service Desk Analysts.

Duration:  August 2024 -  February 2025

Schedule/Hours per week:  Monday -  Friday 8:00 to 5:00.  This internship will work a minimum of 20 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week.  If working less than 40 hours the preferred hours will be morning hours beginning at 8:00.

Eligibility:  Candidates must currently live within commuting distance to Liberty Lake,  Washington.  Candidates must be enrolled in a local college for the entirety of the internship and at least a junior standing and eligible for internship credit through February 2025. 

Qualifications

  • Current student (minimum of junior standing,  senior or Masters student)  enrolled in school through the duration of the internship.  Preference will be given to students pursing a degree in information technology,  business management or related fields.
  • Excellent verbal,  organizational and writing skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite,  including Microsoft Outlook,  Word,  Excel and Teams.
  • Student must be a hard worker with a fun,  can-do attitude
