Description

ANR Group Inc is recruiting students currently enrolled in Chemistry or Environmental Science for a summer internship opportunity with Hanford Laboratory Management and Integration on the Hanford site in Richland,  WA.

This internship is open to students with Junior or Senior class standing that can be available for a 12-to-14-week internship.  This position is a full-time,  40 hour per week internship.  The schedule is Monday-  Thursday,  6 a.m.  to 4:30 p.m.  The hourly rate for this position is $24.15 per hour for Juniors and $26.46 per hour for Seniors.

Responsibilities

Duties:

Work with Organic and Research &  Technology Development scientists to:

  • Research molecular forms of copper that could interfere with HPLC method for organic complexants
  • Identifying documents associated with these interferences within Hanford tank waste
  • Establishing relative abundances of radionuclides for select elements in tank wastes
  • Searching technical resources as well as Hanford site documents
  • Organizing and compiling data
  • May include technical assessment of the documents found

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the internship.
  • Junior or Senior class standing,  fulltime students (12+  credit hours)  during the two quarters/semesters immediately preceding the start of the internship or a recent college graduate.
  • Strong computer skills,  including Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).  Ability to interface with Chemists.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry testing methods,  including Organic and Radiochemistry.
