About Us

We are a “timber”  farm located in Amboy,  WA.  8 acres of our 10 acre property is designated as Timber land.  This previous christmas tree farm is now producing timber that provides habitate for wild species and the growth of native plant species.  In conjunction with our timber land we work with local farmers to provide natives species for resale,  collaborate with farmers market vendors for sale of value added products,  and use livestock to assist with our sustainable practices.

As a Natural Resources Intern you will conduct invasive plant management and other restoration duties as needed,  assisting with ensuring sustainable forest management,  which protects the ecosystem and promote healthy watershed development.

Position will familiarize you with knowledge about water quality,  wetland/meadow maintenance,  livestock considerations,  and fertilizer/pesticide considerations.

All equipment is maintained and has safety mechanisms to prevent injury.  Majority of larger equipment is self-propelled which allows for individuals with little experience to learn to use.

Responsibilities

Duties include mowing,  raking,  weeding,  pruning,  edging,  and debris pickup.

-  Use of landscaping equipment for invasive plant management,  including use of propelled brush hog mower,  push lawn mower,  riding lawn mower,  propelled weed eater,  and other hand operated landscape equipment.

Qualifications

  • Repetitive lifting and/or carrying of debris.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Frequent bending,  twisting,  and reaching.
  • Repetitive grasping/clinching of hands for cutting invasive plants.
